The third annual Nollywood & African Film Critics’ Awards (NAFCA 2013) was held recently at the Warner Theatre, Washington DC USA. In attendance were filmmakers, actors, producers and other entertainers from around the world.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The NAFCA 2013 program generally commenced the day before with the premiere of some Nollywood movies with some of the filmmakers and actors attending the premiere sessions. Afterwards, a meet and greet session followed before the evening was topped off by an after session party. The award event proper took off on Saturday with more filmmakers and entertainers arriving in various flashy cars including limousines and carriages. There was a red-carpet session as well as meet the press session before the attendees moved into the main auditorium of the Warner theater where the main program commenced with feature entertainment from various artists and entertainers. After the awards, guests proceeded to the Washington DC’s elite Cloud 9 for the party. Turn out included top filmmakers, actors, and entertainers from both the Diaspora and from the continental Africa.
