Spanish/Nigerian Couple Receive Traditional Titles at The Awka Egwu-uzu Festival
Awka, Ananbra State, Nigeria: Recently, it was celebration galore in Awka, the Anambra state capital city as the community came together to celebrate its “Egwu Uzu Ofala festival” which was held at the Ikwodiaku School compound in Amikwo, Awka, Anambra state. The occasion commenced with a church service and continued with recognition and award presentations to some Awka indigenes as well as some awardees from outside the Awka community who were also bestowed with titles. The coronation ceremonies which marked the highlight of the Ofala festival kicked off with the coronation of Spaniard, Engineer Ignacio Campo as “Eziafakaego” (good name is better than silver and gold) and his wife, Princess Nwanne Campo as “Osodieme” (the wife that achieves with her husband). The Awka monarch, His Royal Highness, Obi Gibson Nwosu (Ezeuzu II) moderated the coronation event that featured a total of 15 title recipients. Pictures courtesy of Princess Nwanne Campo
