Queens New York: Recently, the “Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio” with headquarters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Nigeria inaugurated their New York Chapter and also inducted their new members as well. In attendance were members and officials of the organization from around the world including the International President, Akparawa (Elder) Nse Ubeh and several USA/Canada Commission executives such as The High Commissioner USA/Canada Commission, Akparawa (Dr.) Maurice Ekwo, Deputy High Commissioner, Akparawa Emmanuel Ekop; Secretary Akparawa Eshiet Inyang, and the Protocol Officer Akparawa Essien Isong. Obong (Prince) Akpan Charles Akpabio was also present at the event.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The event commenced with the delegation meet and greet and reception. This was followed by the procession that ushered in the International president, Akparawa (Elder) Nse Ubeh. The Mboho members then filed in all dressed in their colorful traditional uniform attire. After preliminary opening protocols were observed, the International President gave his opening remarks followed by the welcome address by the Chairman of the New York Chapter, Akparawa-Anwan Eno Awotoye. The Chairman of the occasion gave his remarks and it was followed by the induction of the new members after which dinner was served followed by cultural entertainment by Akwa-ibom traditional dancers and others.
