New York African Film Festival Celebrates 24th Successful Film Festival
New York, New York: After a successful completion of its 24th festival, the staff of New York African Film Festival (NYAFF) led by AFF Director, Mahen Bonetti has expressed appreciation to everyone who made the 24th New York African Film Festival a wonderful success. The festival has been reported as an “amazing, enlightening, and heart-warming experience” from screenings and discussions to other festival related events. NYAFF thanks its collaborators, sponsors, friends and audiences who support and help to spread the word about AFF! Appreciation also goes to Festival co-presenter the Film Society of Lincoln Center, as well as Brooklyn Academy of Music/BAMcinématek and Maysles Cinema, and all filmmakers and artists who have shared their work with AFF.
This year’s festival showcased some of the most cutting edge cinema coming from the African continent and the African Diaspora today, along with classic and archival films that reminded us all of the past and present struggles for justice that Africa shares with other regions around the world.
