Recently, veteran musician and producer Emperor Adichie and friends came together to pay a memorial tribute to late African artists who once lived in New York and its surrounding states in America. Some of the musicians honored were Oluko Imo (Trinidad), Sam Taki Ofori (Ghana), Friday Pozo (Nigeria), Dr Martino Atangana (Cameroon), Chief /Rev. Little Joe Ayesu (Ghana), and Goddy Wichendu (Nigeria). The occasion also witnessed the 70th birthday celebration of Emperor Adichie.
Some dignitaries in attendance were: Sir David Ancreum (Vice Pres. NAACP Yonkers), Afam Ofoedu (Hospital Administrator), Chief Mr & Mrs Tony Erokwu, Rev. Gloria Osagie, Hon. and Mrs. Oliver Mbamara, Mr. Emma Agu (NigerianFM), Chief Nwakibie Nwabuzor,Sir Peter Annang, Uncle Patrick Akossa, Mr Analiefo Okoloji, Dr Ezek, Rev. Hannibal Orchart, Mrs Olayinka Boyo/Bankole, Dr Boma Jack, Chief Obebi Olali, Kwameh Nkrumah, Muriel Mwamba, Perfecta Ekpo, and Daniel Santos among others.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The event commenced with attendance of guests and artists from the tri-state area and beyond. After opening ceremonies, the MC of the evening Ms. Perfecta Ekpo invited several artists to variously perform and entertain the audience. There was a break for food and beverage followed by a celebration of Emperor Adichie’s 70th birthday. After that the floor was then open for dance and further celebrations. Pictures by African Events.
