The African Advisory Council’s (AAC) is pleased to launch the premiere of
its African Women Celebration and Awards night. The event will take place
on Thursday March 19th, 2015 at 5PM at the Bronx Museum of Art located
on 1040 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY 10456.
The African Advisory Council serves as a resource to the African
community in the Bronx, which is estimated to be over 120,000 persons.
It has succeeded in creating solidarity that transcends ethnic and religious
boundaries, and has also cultivated relationships while enhancing
communication, interaction between the borough’s African community
and the larger Bronx community. In that purpose, the AAC’s African
Women Celebration was created as a platform to unite and celebrate
African women of all background.
Join us to an historical night in the making featuring the elegance of
African women attires; cultural exhibitions and performances and a
diversity of cuisines. This is a time to celebrate and recognize women for
their selfless devotion and powerful contribution to the country and the
world. It is an opportunity to honor mothers or motherly figures,
professionals, business and community leaders for they inspire the next
generations and instill a strong sense of community.
The event is free and open to the public. We hope you will join the Bronx
Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., Bronx elected officials, family, friends,
colleagues and constituents to celebrate our African women and girls.
